Project 365

Well, it’s a new year and in order to keep growing one must keep challenging herself, right? After watching Helga successfully complete her Project 365 in 2009, I was inspired to do the same — and of course the new camera came just in time for it.

A Project 365 requires you to take one photo a day for the next 365 days. It’s up to you to decide what the subject of your photos will be. Some of my online friends chose to start their 365s on January 1, which is what I did:

(1/365) Morning

(1/365) Morning

I’ve chosen to take either self-portraits or photos of things that are important to me on that particular day. You can follow on Tumblr and suggest themes, provide advice on how to take better photos, comment on how weird I look, etc. In other words, HELP! I’ve got 361 days left!

Hello Noelle, I happen to stumble upon your blog and I think it's a splendid and ambitious project. You or I can easily snap 365 shots in 1 day, no problem, but to do 1 shot a day for 365 days? I wish you the best of luck and I admire your determination! I think it will be more challenging if you do self portraits. That way you can track how you change each day and try different hours too. I hope you can keep it up & keep it interesting so at least there will be friends following you. You will not walk alone.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice.Jet, I'm taking it a day at a time and trying not to think too far ahead. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. πŸ˜‰

Hi Calvin, thanks! I shoot using a 10-second timer and a tripod. I find it a bit weird asking someone to take an artsy shot of me — and of course, it's a project 365 of self-portraits.
